Training for Careers in Medicine

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Binghamton University holds courses for those looking to excel in the medical field.

BU's Office of Continuing Education and Outreach is sponsoring 3 medical training courses at its downtown center.

The courses include medical coding and billing, medical assistant and pharmacy technician.

Tuesday night started the medical coding and billing course.

The 70 hour program will provide students necessary skills needed for the medical field and offers specialized training for those people looking to change careers.

"We're all here to for a fresh start, we've been effected by the economic down turn. And we want to start with a course that we know has job security," said Terry Walton, Student.

The 2 other courses, medical assistant and pharmacy technician will start March 15th.

Both courses will be 50 hours and also held in BU's downtown center.
