New Clinic Taking Shape in Waverly

Waverly, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Guthrie is quickly putting together a new clinic in Waverly, piece by piece.

The 2700 square foot building will be a primary care office here on North Chemung Street in the Village.

And it's an example of modular construction.

Most of the building is constructed in Florida.

Meanwhile, the foundation is being laid on site.

Then 3 segments are shipped here to Waverly to be pieced together like a puzzle.

It's a growing trend in building, because it's time and energy efficient.

"These are about 95 percent complete when they come to the site so there is paint, wallpaper, carpet and tile and everything in these modules already. But we have to hook the plumbing, and electrical together," said Graham Russell of Modus Healthcare.

The building will house 6 exam rooms, two offices, a waiting room and a reception area.

It's expected to be open within a month.
