Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Local women slip on their heels and hit the ice.
The first annual "Hockey & Heels" event hit the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena Thursday night.
The Binghamton Senators held the event.
Women got a behind the scenes look at the arena and learned more about hockey.
The ladies were broken up into groups and given tours of the arena, which included the locker rooms and skyboxes.
The B-Sens players were on hand to answer any questions the women had about the sport.
"A lot of women like hockey and enjoy coming to the games, but sometimes they really don't understand it. So this is a good chance for them to come out and really ask questions in an environment that they're comfortable with, other ladies and they can really open up and ask hard questions they might be afraid to ask their husbands or something like that," said Nate Newborn, New Business Development Executive.
44 women signed up for Thursday's event.
$30 dollars got the the women food, drinks and a ticket to Friday night's B-Sens game against Rochester.
