Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A pharmacist, athlete and a U.S. Homeland Security employee are among those awarded for their career success.

Binghamton City School District held its Distinguished Graduates dinner Wednesday night.

The annual event honors past graduates who have gone on to become successful.

Six Binghamton High School graduates were recognized.

They work in fields of medicine, arts, law, government and business.

The ceremony is held as a model for graduating students.

"It's an inspiration for the students of the school and it's a great way to say thank you for being such a wonderful product of the Binghamton City School District," said Lawrence Kassan, BCHS Director of Special Projects.

"I look at the list of people before me and I remember the kids from our class, and I'm really humbled that anyone would ever think of me that way," said Ron Sall, 1969 Graduate and Honoree.

More than 100 guests attended the ceremony.

It was hosted by the class of 2010.
