(WBNG Binghamton) An Air Algerie flight carrying 116 people from Burkina Faso to Algeria disappeared from radar Thursday morning.
Officials said they lost contact about 50 minutes after takeoff, when the plane was over northern Mali.
France's foreign minister said no wreckage had been found, but the plane "probably crashed."
An Algerian official told CBS News that the plane had crashed, but he said it was unclear where or why.
The disappearance of the Air Algerie plane comes after a surge of other recent flight disasters.
