Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Animal shelters are taking in so many cats they have run out of room.

The Broome County Humane Society currently has 98 cats at its shelter.

That's 50 cats over its limit with another 80 on a waiting list to come in.

Because of the overcrowding, the Humane Society says it is important to have your cats spayed and neutered, or keep them inside.

The Humane Society says if you adopt one cat, it will waive the adoption fee for a second cat.

SPEAK Animal Hospital also hopes people will come out to adopt a cat.

It's waiving the adoption fee on about 15 cats.
