Chenango County Departments Team Up For Drug Arrests

Norwich, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A several months investigation led to the arrest of 6 people in connection with trafficking of crack cocaine in Chenango County.

Chenango County Sheriff's Deputies and the City of Norwich police officers arrested 27 Year old Richard Tyler, 20 Year old Shawndell Johnson, 33 Semajdanyell Baker and 34 year old Asia Owens, all of Syracuse.

They were all charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Degree.

Also arrested were 47 year old Richard Biewer and 42 year old Gwenda KnaDo, both of Norwich.

They also face drug possession charges, as well as Endangering the welfare of a child.

Invesigators say the four defendants from Syracuse were arrested after their vehicle was pulled over on Wednesday.

A search of their vehicle found Crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Biewer and KnaDo were arrested after their home at 56 Birdsall Street in the City of Norwich was searched.

Drugs were found where children living in the home could find them.

All six defendants were arraigned and sent to the Chenango County jail.
