Elmira Shooting Victims Identified

Elmira, NY (WBNG Binghamton) - An update on a shooting in Elmira we reported on. Action News originally reported there were two shootings early Sunday morning-- one on Spaulding Street around 3 am and another on Sly Street at 4:30 am.

Action News learned Monday from Elmira police that there was just one shooting.

It happened on Sly Street.

The time of the incident has not been confirmed.

Police say one of the victims, 19-year-old William Brooks, known as Alfie, was shot in the face.

After being transferred from a local hospital, Brooks was treated at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester and later released.

The other victim, 20-year-old Jeremy Cade, was shot in the arm. He was treated and released at a local hospital.

Police say neither Brooks and Cade are cooperating with the investigation.

Police are still interviewing people and looking for witnesses.
