New Orleans, LA (WBNG Binghamton) New Orleans police say at least 19 people, including two ten-year-olds, were hurt at a Mother's Day parade Sunday afternoon when gunmen opened fire.

At least two people are in critical condition. Police say most victims are expected to recover.

No deaths have been reported.

Police believe two or three people shot into the crowd; a crowd composed of hundreds of people marching down Frenchmen Street.

"It appears two or three people, for reasons unknown for us, started shooting at or in the crowd," NOPD Superintendent Ronal Serpas said. "It was over in a couple of moments."

CBS News reports neighbors rushed into the crowd to help.

"Two guys collapsed right on my steps and my daughter and I did the best that we could to revive them," Bernadette Tyler of New Orleans said.

Police are still investigating, searching for suspects and a motive.
