One Man Dead Following Old Forge House Fire

Old Forge, PA, (WBNG Binghamton) One man is dead and another injured following a house fire in Lackawanna County.

Friday, January 11, a fire broke out in a house in Old Forge, Pennsylvania.

Firefighters found Joseph Casella, 60, in a second floor bedroom.

Paramedics took him to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after.

Joseph's brother, James Casella, 57, was also in the house but escaped.

Paramedics took him to the hospital to be evaluated.

The fire began in the bathroom on the second floor.

Officials determined that a discarded cigarette in the bathroom started the fire.
