Town of Ossian, NY (WBNG Binghamton) An 8 year old girl is dragged 900 feet, after a school bus door closes on her back pack as she got off the bus in western New York.

Haley Heath's backpack got stuck in the door Wednesday around 3 p.m.

It happened in the town of Ossian, near Dansville.

Dansville Central School Bus driver John Coley, 62, was dropping a group of students off at a bus stop along Route 436.

Coley closed the door, not realizing Heath's backpack was stuck.

Coley stopped the bus when he heard students yelling.

Another boy, Michael Thomas, 8, was standing up at the time. He bumped into the seat in front of him and hurt his eye.

No charges were filed against the bus driver.

The Dansville Central School District was notified. It also responded to the scene.

The town of Ossian is about halfway between Corning and Rochester in Livingston County.
