SIDNEY, N.Y. (WBNG Binghamton) -- Major Kevin G. Molinari, New York State Police Troop "C" Commander has released the results for the "Drunk Driving, Over the Limit, Under Arrest" campaign for the Southern Tier of New York.

According to a news release issued Wednesday:

"The "Drunk Driving, Over the Limit, Under Arrest" campaign has concluded with very positive results for all users of the highways in the seven counties of Troop "C", noted Major Molinari. "From the period December 14, 2012 through January 1, 2013, Troop "C" members made 40 arrests for Driving While Intoxicated; five of these arrests were made while investigating personal injury automobile collisions, where alcohol was found to be a contributing factor."

"Drunk driving is a behavioral choice that will not be tolerated. Not only do you risk killing yourself, but your conduct also places the lives of innocent motorists and vehicle occupants at unnecessary risk." said Major Molinari.
