Delaware County, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A Masonville man and an Afton woman were arrested on October 8, for their roles in a two-car motor vehicle that killed a Margaretville woman back in March.
On March 24, Joshua Stimpson, 26, of Masonville, was driving north on State Route 10, in the Town of Hamden.
He attempted to pass another vehicle heading north. But he was traveling in a no-passing zone.
That's when Stimpson struck a vehicle traveling southbound-- hitting it head-on. Sherry Bush, 60, was driving that vehicle.
She died at the scene.
On Friday, October 8, Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Stimpson on a sealed indictment warrant. He's charged with second degree Manslaughter, Reckless Driving, Failure to Keep Right, Improper Use of a Mobile Telephone and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
Deputies also arrested Jamie Lathan, 30, of Afton on a sealed indictment warrant. She's charged with Reckless Driving and Improper Use of a Mobile Telephone.
The New York State Police Troop C Collision Reconstruction Unit assisted Delaware County deputies with the investigation.
That investigation also revealed that Lathan and Stimpson were communicating via cell phones at the time of the accident. Both were driving to Delhi, where they worked.
Lathan has been released on bail.
Stimpson is currently being held in lieu of $25,000 cash bail.
