Albany, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Leader of New York's State owned schools is pushing to allow schools to set their own tuition prices.

SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher met with lawmakers for 2 hours this morning.

She supports a bill allowing SUNY schools to determine their tuition prices, without having to seek approval from lawmakers.

Two senators from Western New York and one from Long Island are threatening to vote against the final budget bill unless the SUNY bill passes.

Zimpher praised those three senators today for "standing tall."
