(WBNG Binghamton) How do you spot underage drinkers and people who may have had too many? A alcohol training program is returning to Broome County.
The Binghamton Restaurant Week Association and Broome County Stop DWI are working together to bring TIPS to the area.
The Training for Intervention Procedures, or TIPS, helps to teach those in the alcohol service industry what to look for when it comes to underage drinking and over-consumption.
Broome County Deputy Executive Bijoy Datta said, "It helps them identify and prevent intoxication, underage drinking and drunk driving. So it's really an important way to help keep our streets safer as people go out and enjoy themselves, go to restaurants, go to bars."
The seminar is scheduled for January 9th and 10th.
It will actually train people to become trainers, so they can teach others locally.
