Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Two area organizations want to get your young one excited about reading.
The JCC Early Childhood Center and WSKG invited the community out to its Pre-School Literacy Day.
It's geared toward toddlers, about 18 months old to 5 years old.
They were invited to dress as their favorite story book characters.
Organizers say they saw a lot of Spidermans and princesses.
"It's really important to get kids excited about reading," said JCC President Marlene Schwartz Patrick. "So anything that you can do to, like getting your child a library card, that's one of the things that's being offered this afternoon, introducing your children to books and just read read read."
Just this morning alone, the JCC says it saw 250 people, including kids and their families.
There was a live interactive reading of "All Aboard the Dino Train."
It's is the fourth year of the event.
