Alleged robbery at gunpoint in Ithaca

Ithaca, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A man in Ithaca told police he was robbed at gunpoint late Friday night.

Ithaca police said the man had been drinking alone at the West Village Place apartment complex when he went for a walk in downtown Ithaca.

The man reported when he came to the intersection of Elm Street and the access road to the apartment complex, a white sedan pulled up near him and three men jumped out of the car.

He said they beat him and one man put an assault rifle into his mouth.

The man said they stole his cell phone and wallet before leaving the scene.

Ithaca police said the man had minor scratches during the robbery.

The three accused robbers are described as white with one man being "husky."
