Antiques back at BU Events Center (with photos)
Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) It's been 31 years of antiques, art, sculptures and more here in Greater Binghamton, and all because of the Binghamton Sertoma Club. The Million Dollar Antique Show kicked off another weekend at the Binghamton University events center, showing off pieces that come with many stories and sometimes high value. "A lot of the old jewelry is made better -- better materials, better techniques than the moders. There are still some great things being made today, but there's a lot better workmanship in many cases in the old pieces," said John Sowizral, of VBS in Endicott. "Every once in a while we'll see a surprise piece of artwork maybe come through the show, and where we might see very unusual items come through is our appraisal clinic, which is held on Sundays noon to four. We've had civil war rifles that turned out to be very valuable come through," said Chip Hunt, of the Binghamton Sertoma Club. The show continues Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $7 dollars each day.
