Arrests in relation to burglaries on city's south side

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Binghamton Police arrest of 3 teenaged boys, two shown here, in connection with a rash of burglaries and car larcenies on the south side.

Juan Martinez, 17, and Alex Vega, 17, both of Binghamton are charged with attempted burglary and trespassing. Another 15-year-old male is charged with attempted burglary.

Just before 1:30 a.m. Thursday, an investigator spotted four males acting suspiciously in the area of James and Duane Avenue. They fled when he approached them behind a home on Vine.

Additional officers including K-9 units showed up and searched the area. When they found Martinez, Vega and the other teen, police say they were carrying tools used for burglaries.
Both were arraigned in Binghamton City Court and taken to the Broome County Jail.  The juvenile was released pending further family court action.
