Vestal NY Binghamton (WBNG Binghamton) While obesity rates may be on the rise, Binghamton University students are doing their part to raise awareness toward healthy living.

More than 80 vendors took part in the 7th annual NourishU Health Fair at the Binghamton University's Events Center.

The fair featured free exercise sessions, health screenings and the opportunity to sample healthy food and drinks.

"Well, March is National Nutrition Month so every March we want to bring awareness to not only nutrition but health and wellness and I think its important for people to learn little tips and tricks that they can take away from today and incorporate into their everyday lives," said
Alexa Schmidt, a registered dietician.

Hundreds of students, facility and community members attended
the event.

It ran until 7 p.m. and was free to the public.
