Town of Union, NY (WBNG Binghamton) It might not be Germany, and it might not be October, but people turned out to enjoy some German delights Friday night at Traditions at the Glen.

The reason for celebration -- the 2nd annual Room to Heal Oktoberfest fundraiser.

Room to Heal is an organization that does room makeovers for kids with serious medical conditions.

According to one of the board members, they hope to raise enough money to do rooms for two kids in the local area.

Governor Cuomo's regional representative came out to support the cause.

"Speaking as a father of three children, you can't think of a better way you would want to spend your Friday," said Regional Representative Kevin McCabe. "It's just such a wonderful event, that these people come together out of the goodness of their heart to help children that are in such need, and families who have children that are really struggling."

McCabe tapped the keg to kick-off the event with help from Mayor Matt Ryan as people danced to a German band from New Jersey.
