Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The city of Binghamton is asking residents to avoid traveling after 7 o'clock tonight as the roads are growing more and more treacherous.

The city is also advising free off-street parking will be available tonight in the downtown parking ramps and in the city park lots.

Alternate side of the street parking rules will be strictly enforced. Vehicles parked illegally will be ticketed and towed.

"We're as prepared as we can be. We have enough staff ready to man the storm. We're ready to go. But again, a lot of these times it depends on how heavy the snow falls, how much of an impact it has," said Binghamton Mayor Matt Ryan.

If your car gets plowed in there's nothing you can do except shovel it out. The best way to avoid it is to park off the street if you're able to allow the plows to do their work.
