Binghamton diner to close after 28 years

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A local diner is preparing to say goodbye after 28 years of business.

Niko's Diner on Upper Court Street announced it will be closing at the end of April.

Many expressed sadness this morning when they heard the beloved diner's fate.

"Here is like a family. We treat everyone like a family and we are like a family. It's the worse part of closing, I'm going to miss them all," said owner, John Gianakos.

The owner also said they will be meeting with several potential buyers this April.

It is unknown if they are interested in keeping the diner a diner.
