Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) For the past few weeks, volunteers with St. Michael's Greek Catholic Church have been whipping up traditional Carpathian style foods for one of their annual festivals.

On Sunday, their hard work came to life and paid off. Pirohis and other traditional foods were flying off the tables.

Form the time Sunday's church service ended around 11 a.m. to the close of the festival, hundreds weaved in and out to celebrate the church.

"They're very proud of it and we wish to continue this, to be part of the community, be part of our people and commemorate what we did have and what we still have," Deacon Charlie Ellis said.

The Carpathian Festival is one of the biggest fundraisers for the church.
