Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binhamton) The Calvary Community Church in Johnson City reopened Sunday.
It suffered massive damage to the first floor during last year's flood.
Church-goers enjoyed a service in their new place of worship this morning.
The community was also able to tour the entirely renovated and reconfigured first floor, which allows for larger capacity and more efficient access and usage.
All of the renovations and rebuilding would not have been possible without help from the community.
"We've had other churches, we've had community groups, businesses across the street from us, we have all become friends. They've helped us, we've helped them," said Gary Sawyer.
The church suffered about $600,000 in loses, but donations of more than $100,000 have made the rebuilding process much easier.
