Dickinson, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Although Governor Cuomo expects New York City to be hit harder by Sandy than the Southern Tier he is still doing what he can in case there is a repeat of last year.

Cuomo wants people to take the warnings seriously.

He met with various Broome County politicians via conference call including State Senator Tom Libous and Broome County Executive Debbie Preston to share his plan of action.

"We've sent 200 National Guard and a whole litany of equipment. They're sending up generators are on their way, light towers are on their way, water tankers are on their way, so are water treatment systems. 3000 meals, because we knew Tom {Libous} had an appetite," said Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Cuomo had planned to be in Greater Binghamton at 12:30 pm but weather prevented his aircraft from landing.
