(WBNG Binghamton) The Department of Transportation took time to thank DOT workers who responded after Hurricane Sandy.
Director Jack Williams met at the DOT Equipment Facility in Kirkwood.
Williams shared the experiences of many workers who headed downstate to help in the recovery efforts.
"I'm very proud of them for putting themselves out there and being ready to go and help one another, our co-workers in the downstate area, it makes me proud to work them and know they do those things," said Williams
The DOT showed the equipment and vehicles used during it's time downstate.
