Owego, NY (WBNG Binghamton) In addition to the thousands of lights that make up Owego's annual Lights on the River festival, a new Big Snowzilla Toboggan Ride had people smiling.

The festival ran Friday evening and was capped off by a fireworks show. People could do some holiday shopping, say hi to Santa, sing carols and more. Organizers said it warms their hearts to know the community enjoys the event each year.

"It's good for people to come out and be part of this, and we really appreciate the fact that they do that," said Director of Tourism Stella Reschke.

The thousands of lights will sparkle in Owego through the middle of January.

Also, the Tioga County Historical Museum's O'Tannenbaum exhibit is open Wednesdays through Saturdays. Inside are more than 100 decorated Christmas trees and wreaths.
