Guilford, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Investigators have determined the cause of a fatal fire that occured in Guilford Sunday night.
Officials say the fire was set intentionally by the occupant, 57-year-old Rick Baker, who died of smoke inhalation.
Prior to the conclusion of the fire investigation, family members reached out to speak about Baker.
Rick's daughter, Lacy Davis, lived in the home with her father at 209 Joslyn Road. She said he was a loving father and grandfather.
"He was always there for everybody whenever they needed him," Lacy said. "He had a heart of gold. He was everyone's best friend ... He's going to be so deeply missed."
Mac Baker of West Windsor also spoke of his brother as being very kind.
Mac told Action News his brother was well known for pulling ponies and horses, and that he was active in wrestling, clinching the heavyweight division title in 1972 after becoming the Section Four champion in high school.
