Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The intermunicipal agreement between Johnson City and Endicott governing both of their fire departments has been officially terminated by Johnson City.

It was the first agreement of it's kind in the state of New York, and it made Stephen Hrustich the chief of both fire departments.

Right now, with no chief, the Village of Johnson City is weighing its options.

"Our fire marshal is our acting chief at the moment. So what we're doing is, we're just looking to see how we're going to move forward from here to put a chief in place. There's many different options and right now as a board we're discussing that," said Johnson City Mayor Greg Deemie.

The Village of Endicott terminated the agreement officially last month.

Hrustich left both departments in August for a job just northeast of Atlanta, Georgia.
