(WBNG Binghamton) Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett is working closely with power line repair workers who are working around the clock to restore power to the Greater Philadelphia region.

Corbett says he is pleased with the response of PECO, Pennsylvania's main energy and electricity provider, but many are still without power.

Outages in the state are so widespread, back up crews have been called in to help.

Corbett said, "Many came in, over 1,000 came in from Chicago, Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky areas, and this is how it is going to continue to work."

The Governor says by election day, every polling place in the state will have electricity.
