Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A Binghamton family is working to raise money for their one-week-old daughter, Trinity, who was born with an underdeveloped heart.

Trinity Hranek was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. The left side of her heart was not fully developed when she was born on Aug. 23.

Her family held a benefit in her honor to raise money for future surgeries on Saturday at Brother's 2 in Endicott.

The benefit had a food buffet, music, dancing and raffles.

Last week, just a few days old, Trinity underwent open heart surgery at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

Her father, Christopher Hranek, says it's something he never wants to live through again.

"We waited in the family waiting room and it was the worst six hours of my life," Hranek said. "Just on pins and needles and lots of prayers, but she pulled through and she is in recovery."

Hranek says Trinity will be in recovery for at least a month in Rochester.

She will have to undergo at least two more surgeries by the time she enters kindergarten.
