Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Guests and staff at the Holiday Inn of Binghamton evacuated for an hour after a bomb threat.

Approximately 100 people stood outside the Holiday Inn on Hawley Street as Binghamton police investigated.

Seven Binghamton police cars arrived on scene, including a K-9 unit.

Police searched every room and closet looking for anything suspicious, but nothing was found.

According to Robert Greene, general manager of the Holiday Inn, a call was received around 1 p.m. when a man threatened the building with an explosive.

"The next minute or two I spoke with him, he mentioned doing harm to my guests and harm to the building via a bomb several times," said Greene. "We take that very seriously and we called the police department immediately."

According to Greene, the man sounded to be slurring his words on the phone and was extremely angry.

Greene said this is the first time a threat has been called into the hotel.
