Man critical after being hit by train

Town of Union, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A Horseheads man was listed in critical condition late Sunday after being hit by a train in the town of Union Friday night.

New York State Police say, Travis J. Cliburn, 21, of Horseheads, was walking along the Norfolk-Southern train tracks when he was hit by a train at approximately 11:15 p.m. Friday.

Cliburn was sent to Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City and then transferred to Upstate Medical Hospital in Syracuse. He is in critical condition.

State police say Cliburn was struck by a Norfolk-Southern train traveling west bound en-route to Buffalo.

The investigation is ongoing.
