Ithaca, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Ithaca Police say the death of a 32-year-old man found near a gorge Wednesday is likely an accident.
The body of Alan A. Young-Bryant was spotted in the morning at the bottom of a gorge in an area known as Treman Triangle.
He was a graduate of Cornell University now living in Los Angeles.
Young-Bryant came to Ithaca to visit his girlfriend, a doctoral student at Cornell.
Police say it is imperative people be careful around all of Ithaca's gorges.
"You can decide to disobey signs and go into the water. And these swift moving currents that you may not be seeing, they could sweep you off your feet and put you in a very dangerous situation, very quickly," said Officer Jamie Williamson.
Investigators do not know if alcohol was involved.
Doctors examined the body in an autopsy Thursday at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton.
