Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A key witness pointed her finger at Maurice Anthony in Broome County Court Wednesday, identifying him as the killer of her 21-year-old cousin in 2010.
Prosecutors continue to argue their case against a man who's accused of killing and robbing Eric Dantzler Dec. 19, 2010.
Dantzler was shot to death in his car on Corliss Avenue in Johnson City that December evening.
Dantzler's cousin, and eye-witness to the shooting, took the stand on Wednesday in Broome County Court.
She said Maurice Anthony was the passenger in that vehicle, and that he fired the fatal shots that killed Dantzler.
The witness said Anthony tried to convince Dantzler to join the Bloods gang, referring to himself as "head of the Blood."
Anthony then attempted to steal money and marijuana from Dantzler, and fired two shots at the car while he was fleeing the scene, the witness said.
Defense attorneys pointed out discrepancies in the cousin's testimony, implying she didn't get a good look at the man who was in the car.
During her first two statements to police she did not say the victim was wearing a hat or had on a bright checkered scarf.
The witness later picked Anthony out of a lineup in May 2012.
The trial continues Thursday in Broome County Court.
If found guilty Anthony could face life in prison.
