Town of Union, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The best of the best from all across the country are teeing off at Traditions at the Glen this week.
For the third year in a row, the resort and golf course is hosting the USGLL Youth Golf Association National Championship.
On Monday, the teams got together with their parents and coaches and played in a memorial tournament.
There are only four teams in this national competition, and one of them comes from Conklin.
"These kids are phenomenal golfers. I mean, they're around par, they're bogie-par golfers at 10, 11, 12, I mean it's just amazing their skill level," said East Cost Regional Director of the USGLL Robert Warholic.
There are four kids per team, ranging in age from 7 years old to 14.
Playing on a real, manicured course is something some of the kids have never done before.
"Most of these kids won't ever see this. So, they enjoy it and love it because they don't get this in their normal play, when they're playing on the public golf courses," said president of the USGLL Kevin Flanagan.
The actual tournament tees off Tuesday morning at 7:30 where the teams will compete round robin style, with the top two teams battling it out on Thursday.
