Letting Someone Else Drive in the Snow
(WBNG Binghamton) Travel conditions were slick for those traveling through the Southern Tier Friday. Emergency crews were telling people to stay home and avoid any unnecessary travel. But some people had to be out on the roads, such as those who work for Citi Cab Service. When Action News arrived at their offices, the phones were going off non-stop. Citi has five drivers running constantly all day. Some working nearly 12 hour shifts or more. The main goal is making sure those needing a ride arrive to their destinations safely. "It's hectic making sure everyone is going and staying on the same route, and going where you need them to go, and getting there promptly. Especially in these conditions," said Citi Co-owner Matt Ortloff. Action News rode along with drivers Bob Burrell and Robert Gregory, who both say caffeine is helpful to staying awake and alert.
