Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Front line supervisors take part in the Live Line demonstration at NYSEG's training facility in Johnson City.

This knowledge for the 20 members from Broome County Sheriff's Office about hot wires like downed power-lines is important because they are typically the first to arrive on the scene and need to know appropriate safety protocol.

At the demonstration Friday morning NYSEG's chief linemen instructed them on how to identify which situations were unsafe for them to handle without professional attention.

Clayton Ellis, Manager of Corporate Communications for NYSEG said, "Law enforcement agencies, fire fighters and other emergency services personnel are really are partners in responding to emergencies when it comes to our facilities, so we want them to know what they need to do to be safe and what they can do to keep the public safe."
