Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) It was a chance for residents to meet those vying for public office, and hear their stance on the issue.

Candidates met at the Vestal Public Library Monday where they gave short speeches. They outlined their accomplishments and stances on several controversial issues, both local and nation-wide.

Topics included education, fracking, job creation, and middle class families.

Some of the positions the candidates are hoping to fill include Broome County Executive, New York Senate, State Assembly, and a seat in Congress.

To wrap up the event, attendees were invited to ask more in-depth questions to any candidate.

Americans for Restoring the Constitution held the event, highlighting that the Constitution is just as important now as it was when it was first drafted by the founding fathers.
