Town of Union, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Michael Kicinski announced Wednesday another run for Congress, a week and a day after this year's General Election.
Kicinski, a member of the Tea Party, made the announcement at Brother's II restaurant. He said he wanted to get his message out early for the 2014 elections, something he says he wasn't able to do two years ago.
He ran for Congress in 2012. Kicinski said his announcement that year came right after redistricting and that -- coupled with New York's two primaries -- cut his campaign short.
Having lived in New York for 35 years, Kicinski said he understands certain issues affecting the state.
"I want to see our nation return to the constitutional republic that our founding fathers founded," Kicinski said.
Kicinski supports Norwich TEA Party Patriots, along with other New York groups. He said if voters support him, he'll address issues such as Healthcare and Second Amendment rights.
"They know that they can depend on me to uphold my oath to the constitution and vote for things to return to those principles of our constitution," Kicinski said. "I will represent them, unlike the people they're complaining about in office.".
Kicinski lives in Earlville with his wife and 12 children.
