Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The grass could always be greener. At least that's what En-Joie Golf Club said on opening day.
It's where the Senior Pros will play in August at the Dick's Sporting Goods Open.
Director of Golf, Michael Deuel, said the grass is a little brown at the beginning of the season, but some sunshine and warm weather will do the trick.
Crews recall last year when they were forced to open late and keep parts of the course closed due to flood recovery.
"It's much nicer to come out here and be able to open up without having to worry about growing grass, or keeping people off of certain areas, and not being able to open in June," Deuel said.
The course is currently fully open and despite cooler spring weather, En-Joie expects to see 80 to 100 rounds of golf played this opening day.
