Police: Man uses meth in car, baby in backseat
Town of Nanticoke, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A man is arrested after using hard drugs in an illegally parked car with a 2-year-old in the back seat. Deputies arrested Nicholas T. Faiella, 34, of Ithaca, Friday. Just after 9 p.m. Friday, Broome County Sheriff deputies responded to 4429 State Route 26 in the town of Nanticoke for a trespass complaint. The property owner reported seeing a vehicle drive into his corn field across from his home and disappear into the field. Deputies found a gray 2002 Saturn 4-door stuck in the mud about half a mile into the field. Inside, the driver, a white male, was injecting methamphetamine into his arm with a hypodermic needle, and his 2-year-old son in the back seat. Faiella was taken into custody at the scene. His son was turned over to his mom, who came to the town of Nanticoke from their home. Faiella was arraigned in the town of Barker and remanded to the Broome County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash and $3,000 bond. He has been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor, possession of a hypodermic instrument, a class A misdemeanor, endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor, and trespass, a violation. NYS Office of Children and Family Services was made of aware of the incident and is investigating.
