Norwich, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The husband whose tearful pleas for his first-missing then-murdered wife lasted for months was arrested by the Chenango County Sheriff's Office Friday and charged with her death.

Ganesh "Remy" Ramsaran is charged with second degree murder. He remains in the Chenango County Jail on $150,000 cash bail.

Jennifer Ramsaran's body was found on Feb. 26 in the Town of Pharsalia.

Jennifer Ramsaran was reported missing on Dec. 11, 2012 when she left for a shopping trip to Destiny USA in Syracuse.

Family spokesperson and friend Dave Drew announced earlier in the day that Ganesh Ramsaran has been arrested by Chenango County Sheriff.

Drew said Jennifer Ramsaran's father was notified around noon Friday of Remy Ramsaran's arrest.

Drew and the family have declined further comment.

Chenango County Sheriff Ernest Cutting Jr. said they received the full autopsy results earlier this week. Evidence found in the autopsy is what prompted deputies to bring Ganesh Ramsaran in Friday morning for further questioning, followed by his arrest. Cutting would not say specifically what evidence led to Ganesh Ramsaran's arrest.

Ganesh Ramsaran has retained a lawyer and pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Ganesh Ramsaran has three children, all with Jennifer.

He had been engaged with a non-profit group to find his missing wife alive.

Ganesh Ramsaran was arraigned Friday in front of Chenango County Court Judge Frank Revoir Jr.

He's scheduled to re-appear in the Town of New Berlin Court on Thursday.
