Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A musician visits a local school to bring good music and a positive message to the students.

Red Grammer has been writing his own songs and performing for nearly three decades. On Wednesday, he brought his show to Vestal Hills Elementary School.

Grammer's career began when he and his wife started writing songs for their sons and it took off from there.

Although some consider his music to be for children, he argues that it's more than that. He said it's geared toward families.

"I draw on this body of work that has award winning songs, Grammy nominated music and it's very interactive. There's a lot for everybody to do. [Wednesday night] we'll be doing a concert with the parents, which will be sweet. So it becomes a big circle. There's the school, the children and the families and they all get kind of swept away by the sweet messages in the songs and the fun," said Grammer.
