Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The USGLL national championship is underway at Traditions at the Glen for the second year.

Opening ceremonies for the championship were held Monday morning.

"This is our second year here at Traditions and we'd actually like to make this our permanent home for the national championship. Who wouldn't?," said Kevin Flanagan, President of the USGLL, "With the facility, the golf course, the people that welcome us here and take care of us, we couldn't ask for anything better."

The four teams competing this year include teams from Conklin, New York, Hazleton, Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Simi Valley, California.

"(the USGLL) is the only National Group Golf Association and we're in almost 13 states currently," said Rob Warholic, East Coast Regional Director, "They will play 18 holes a day, nine hole format. It's a team sport. It's not just one kid who's going to win the whole thing. It's a team based program and championship."

Practice rounds are scheduled for Monday with the championship rounds Tuesday through Thursday. The tournament is open to the public.
