Planning to engage and change

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The District Governor of Rotary visited the Binghamton Chapter to discuss goals for the year.

This year's theme for the Binghamton Rotary is Engage Rotary and Change Lives.

Tim Overbaugh, the District Governor, spoke about making improvements with fundraising and on motivating members in their efforts locally and across the globe.

One of the club's top priorities will be to improve its youth programs.

"We have some pretty good youth programs, but I'd like to strengthen them a little bit," Overbaugh said.

Overbaugh says it's important to meet with the clubs to keep everyone informed.

There 1.2 million rotary members around the world dedicated to local community service as well as global causes, like eradicating polio. There were 223 confirmed cases of polio in 2012, according to the World Health Organization, more than half reported in Nigeria.
