Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) More than 500 volunteers worked around the clock this week for the 30th Annual Feast of St. Anthony Festival.

The festival celebrates the annual Feast of Saint Anthony which is on June 13.

Nearly a thousand pounds of food are estimated to be cooked and eaten each day during the three-night weekend festival.

Father Jim Serowik of Saint Anthony of Padua in Endicott said it is the biggest festival the church celebrates each year.

"There are thousands that come every year, thousands of people that come every year for the festival," Serowik said. "They come for the food, they come for the music, it's just a great opportunity for us to come together."

Parishioner and volunteer Rita Roma has been going to the festival since she was a little girl.

She said it's one of the most exciting parts of the year.

"We're just celebrating our church community, and reaching out to others at the same time, inviting them in," Roma said.

Four different live bands will play during the three-night festival.

The celebration begins Friday night at 6pm, and will continue on each night through the weekend.

On Sunday, the festival will begin early with an 11:30am Mass, followed by a procession in honor of Saint Anthony.
