Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Galaxy Brewing Company gains international recognition for one of its own beers.

The brewing company took home a silver medal from the World Beer Cup International Competition in Denver, Colorado last week.

The brewing company won the medal for its St. Stusan Pale Ale in the category of Belgian Style Blonde Ale.

Up against roughly 1,400 different breweries, galaxy calls this sort of recognition an honor.

"The thing about beer is that it spans such a great level. There are those beers where it's beer and a pizza and that's great, but then there are finer beers," Brewmaster Seth Weisel said.

The competition began in 1996. Galaxy brewing says it will continue to challenge itself to create award-winning brews.
