Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) At least 50 people were at St. James Church in Johnson City to hear a nun speak about a "faithful budget" for the nation.

The budget was created by NETWORK, a Catholic lobbying group, in cooperation with more than 37 religious denominations including those of the Jewish, Islamic, and Christian faiths.

The nuns' budget implores government to keep social safety nets for the poor and health care for all.

"Where ever there is suffering in the world because of some event or some thing," said Sister Mary Ellen Lacy from NETWORK, "The people who will suffer the most is the poor, those living in poverty. And this is what's happening here."

The sisters said crafting a budget is always a moral issue.
